To be clear, I'm not saying that we should go back to the old tree, I saw a video that made a compelling argument as to why the old tree was flawed, the gist of which was that stats are the only thing that persists between transcensions and so from the point of view of an optimized player you want to get the most amount of useful stat nodes while taking as few flammable nodes as possible to get you through to where you need to be. Once I realized that was what I was missing from the previous version, I started thinking about how it could be set up to give players the option to mix and match flammable nodes to create interesting builds within each transcension.

With that in mind, this update really seems to lack the interesting synergy between flammable nodes since you're locked into specific trees now with no chance to get nodes from different trees. It's been some time now but I remember there were some updates that was considered the strongest strategy, but even when it wasn't I just really enjoyed playing it and trying to make it work. One of my favorite builds back from the previous version was getting auto attack storm and trying to get it to the point where it would regenerate enough MP to never turn off, and then from there just trying to use it to power another click storm and get a stupid amount of attacks per second. Along those lines, I much prefer playing strategies I find fun over strategies that are mathematically the best. I'm a long time lurker here and I've never really posted, but this update got me really sad because one of the biggest things I enjoyed about the previous versions of clicker heroes was the build diversity.īefore I get into what I feel was lost with this update, I want to briefly say that I'm by no means an expert player, I don't generally care about playing the most hyper optimized strategy, and I tend to progress somewhat slowly because of it.
